Elisa Sousa joined the team at Crisis & Counseling Centers in 2018. As someone born and raised in Maine by parents who were both caregivers, working at C&C is a natural fit for Elisa, who values the interpersonal connection it offers with her clients and colleagues. Elisa chose case management as her career path because more than anything else, she wants people to know they’re cared about. At work and at home, Elisa lives by the credo, “do what is right, not what is easy”, and that spills over into her approach to caring for others every day. Elisa wears her heart on her sleeve, is a dog person, is a self-taught guitar player, whose favorite color is purple because it symbolizes someone who is sensitive, compassionate, understanding, supportive, who thinks of others before themselves, and the person others come to for help.
Her greatest inspiration is seeing the little faces of children who smile ear to ear when she pulls into their driveway for a visit.
