With rising costs, many of our clients have been struggling to meet basic needs. Crisis and Counseling Centers’ services like Parent’s Case Management help families access resources and programs to help them meet those needs like housing, food, and transportation. However, accessing these resources takes time. It takes time to fill out paperwork and gather documents. And it takes time for applications to be reviewed and approved.

Our clients can’t wait, though. They need gas to be able to go to work and their therapy appointments. They need to have food on the table to sustain themselves. They need a place to be that’s heated in the winter. They need to pay for Identification documents before they can even apply for a service like MaineCare. They need flexible support to fill in all the gaps that can add up to devastating levels of stress.

It’s difficult to heal without the basic necessities. This is why all October, we are holding a gift card drive. By donating a gift card, you will give community members the short-term support they need while they work on long-term solutions and stability.
