Michael Mitchell, LCSW, is the CEO of Crisis & Counseling Centers (C&C) in Augusta, Maine. Keeping an eye on the horizon for developments in treatment programs, best practice standards, and community partnerships, he oversees the design, integration and supervision of the agency’s clinical programs.
In addition to his career at C&C, Mitchell founded and serves as a consultant and trainer for Mental Health Solutions/Mitchell Psychotherapy.

Hailing from Calais, Maine, Mitchell received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from New York University and achieved a Master of Social Work degree from the same institution in 1986.

Throughout his career he has written and reviewed behavioral health curricula; trained staff; served as an adjunct faculty member at the Behavioral Health Science Institute; conducted juvenile protection worker training; supervised community mental health services; and spent three years at the former Kennebec Valley Medical Center as a family therapist and interim social services director.
