Crisis & Counseling Centers (C&C) offers a variety of recovery group programs for adults in all stages of change from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Please check back, as group options may shift throughout the year to meet community needs.
NEW Family Support Group for Those Affected by Substance Abuse
Are you or someone you know impacted by a loved one’s substance abuse? C&C’s free Family Support Group series is open to the public, with the goal of engaging participants in understanding the impacts of substance abuse upon families and relationships. Participants will cover a range of key topics, considering them in the context of their own experiences with a loved one’s use of substances or efforts to establish a recovery process. Join professional staff and other families every Thursday through August 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at 10 Caldwell Road in Augusta. To reserve a place, call 207.213.4515.
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs)
IOPs are structured treatment programs primarily for people with substance use problems, but also welcome people who have co-occurring mental health concerns. Programs offer support, routine and acquisition of skills to foster a strong start in recovery and typically run four days a week from four to eight weeks.
Motivational Enhancement Therapy
Motivational Enhancement is designed for individuals struggling with mixed feelings around substance use and co-occurring disorders. Members will be offered education and support in a nonjudgmental environment. This group may be particularly helpful before accessing IOPs.
Relapse Prevention Group
The Relapse Prevention program is an abstinence-based group for individuals seeking additional support and acquisition of coping skills in their recovery process. This group is typically used as a step-down from IOP.
Crisis & Counseling Centers also offers a Seeking Safety group for women in all stages of recovery from trauma who want to learn coping strategies to treat trauma and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
