DESCRIPTION:Each September\, in connection with National Recovery Month\, Crisis & Counseling Centers invites members of the community to celebrate the accomplishments\, strength\, and pride of individuals in the recovery community by walking\, running\, or supporting the annual “On Track to Recovery 5K Walk/Run”. \nThe race is one of our most important opportunities to raise resources that allow Crisis & Counseling Centers staff to help Mainers address mental and substance use disorders\, support individuals in recovery\, as well as their family members. \nThere are many ways for you to make an impact: \n\nShare this page with your family and friends.\nRegister to walk or run the race. Participants will learn how to solve problems collaboratively while teaching valuable life skills\, share ideas on how to identify communication gaps & brainstorm solutions. \nThis is a free event open to Parents\, Caregivers\, Youth & Educators of children with behavioral and mental health needs.\nAbout Dr. Ross W. Greene\nDr. Ross W. Green\, PhD is the author of The Explosive Child and Lost at School and a former Associate Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School. Lives in the Balance is the nonprofit organization founded by child psychologist Dr. Ross Green\, originator of the empirically supported Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) approach. The CPS model seeks to infuse the values of collaboration\, mutual respect\, hearing one another’s concerns and solving problems in a mutually satisfactory manner into parenting and education.
